If you have got to this site without coming from one of my others let me introduce myself. I am David Howlett. I have many interests, two of which are gardening and art. I particularly enjoy painting and garden design. Another of my loves is website design - I have three of my personal sites on the web for you to see if you like my style of web design; perhaps you also have the same interests!

I believe that a website should reflect it's author as much as cover their work. With my artist and garden designer background I feel a website should be composed in many ways like a painting and with regards to design principles, dare I say... even in much the same way as a well planned garden! That said, I do have one or two, shall we say more conventional thoughts on website design;
a website should be attractive to look at, the site must be easy to navigate, information should be easy to read using large clear text and to conclude, the information given should be easy to understand without rambling on and on!
